Our professional school bus drivers receive extensive pre-employment verification and ongoing training. They may also participate in additional in-service training annually before school start-up, and they are required to participate in ongoing safety meetings.

Bus driver-related safety recognition and incentive programs plus ongoing driver training programs are in place to maintain and constantly improve workplace safety.

Driver Training

First Student Canada's Driver Trainers help enhance the driving skills for our team of school bus drivers. Driver Trainers assist our Safety Managers in delivering school bus industry leading training programs via in class and behind-the-wheel training with a focus on defensive driving.
